Comments from the Mayor
It is my distinct pleasure to bring greetings from the council and staff of the Town of Bancroft.
It is my further pleasure to have the opportunity to recognize the volunteerism and body of work of one of our local citizens who deserves the community’s full support and honour.
The band shell in Millennium Park will stand out as John’s work along with many others.
As I attend the many events in town I often see John taking part in his quiet way. Saw Tech, Home and Cottage Show, 150th Anniversary, Music in the Park to name a few.
I have heard it said that John has been the bridge between two eras. John spent countless hours with Henry Taylor. Henry was always happy to share stories and skills of times gone by. John’s motivation was primarily to ensure those skills not be lost to future generations.
John is unique in the fact that he is willing to share his knowledge and skills whenever asked. No project is too big or too small.
John seems to have a never ending talent for musical instruments, and a never ending circle of friends in the local music scene.
Thank you John, for your tireless contributions to our community. Congratulations on this tribute.
